Women in Mobile. Meet Nicol Cseko, One of the Women Game Changers in the Mobile Industry

Nicol Cseko, VP Product at Aarki

We might associate mobile tech with male executives and engineers, but there are many women in tech and executive-level roles who are now leading the industry.

Currently, women hold 31% of computing jobs, according to a study by CEB. And the good news is this number is set to continuously increase until the year of 2020.

To acknowledge and give credit to women in the mobile tech industry, we continue our blog series featuring women, game changers in the mobile industry.

Nicol Cseko
VP Product
Hi, I’m Nicol and I head up the product for our DSP and creative studio at Aarki.

  • What drove you to mobile marketing industry?
After working across portfolio of web, mobile, set top ad products, and alternative ad revenue streams in my previous roles, it was an easy next step to join Aarki to work on our creative editor. Mobile advertising being less established in the market meant there was a lot of opportunities to shape the future of mobile ad products.

  • What do you see is the next big thing in mobile marketing?
I’m really interested in seeing what solutions for the in-app equivalent to header bidding will gain traction in the next 6-12 months.

  • How would you describe your day job to a child?
I work with every team in our company, and our customers, to help us decide what we do and focus on as a company.

  • What is your favorite thing about your job?
There is always something interesting to work on and opportunities to learn as our industry evolves at such a fast pace. You can not ever become bored since there are always new and challenging problems to solve and opportunities to seize (or create!). I'm lucky that I get to do all this with a fantastic group of colleagues and customers.

  • What keeps you busy outside work?
I love cooking so I often relax after work by whipping up a meal in the evenings. I’m really into TRX now, after thinking all day, doing something physical is a great way to unwind and put aside anything on my mind. Weekends either involve running around exploring the city, or curled up with a book.

  • Name the top three apps you use daily.
    a. Either the New York Times or Guardian app on my morning commute
    b. Instagram
    c. Currently, I’m also using the Hue app a lot to turn lights on slowly in the morning, and off in the evenings.

  • What’s your favourite country to visit?
It's hard to choose! India is definitely in the top. There are so many regions, each with their unique culture, history, geography, and of course, delicious food.

  • What’s the best piece of advice anyone has given you?
Do fortune cookies count? If so, “If you want to catch a tiger cub you must go into the tiger’s den.” I got it twice in the span of a few months so I figured I better take it to heart.

  • What’s the bravest thing you've ever done?
Moved from New York to London.
