"Don't be afraid to ask questions or make mistakes as long as you learn something from them."

Q: What do you like the most about the industry that you’re currently working in?
UA is a fast-paced, impactful industry that keeps me on my toes. When something that I test works and scales, it's the best feeling ever.

Q: What motivated you to pursue this career?
It's a new industry that allows me to be both analytical and creative. It's constantly evolving so there's never a dull moment.

Q: What’s that one thing you have learned in your career that you would like to share with new entrants?
- Find a mentor — It's the best way to break into the industry and get a crash course in everything you need to know to get hired.
- Less is more — When you’re first starting out, it’s easy to get caught up every piece of information available to you. It can be overwhelming! Know your audience when presenting to stakeholders, what information do they care or not care about?

Q: What are the common challenges women face today in the world of tech?
Women are making tremendous strides. It’s been wonderful to see the rise of female leadership across the industry. For newer entrants like me, one of the biggest challenges is understanding self-worth and translating that in times of negotiation, whether it be for a new job or a promotion. My advice is to be confident, and others will take notice.

Q: What do you think are the top trends that will shape the mobile industry in 3-5 years?
Getting more scientific and data-driven about the way the industry views creatives. With the rise of AI and machine learning, it will be increasingly crucial to quantify exactly what makes a winning creative.

Q: What keeps you busy outside work?
I'm really into beauty! You'll either find me learning about the latest skincare trends and ingredients or doing some over-the-top manicure at home.Krystle Eseller, User Acquisition Marketing at Glu Mobile

Q: Who are the people that inspire you in your life?
Everyone in my immediate circle — my mom, boyfriend, friends and the talented team I work with at Glu. I love surrounding myself with ambitious and hard-working people because it motivates me to keep grinding.

Q: If you could time travel, what’s one event you’d like to attend?
I would love to travel back in time to see my favorite band (One Ok Rock) perform at smaller, more intimate venues around Japan before they made it big.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Don't be afraid to ask questions or make mistakes as long as you learn something from them.

Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
The ability to teleport so I save both time and money when I'm traveling!
